FAQs
The answers to your questions
What time do you schedule your sessions?
I schedule photography sessions during the last hour before sunset—also known as the golden hour—because it provides the most beautiful, flattering light for your photos. While I can schedule sessions at other times of the day, it can be more challenging to work around harsh sunlight, which can cause overexposed images and squinting. Choosing golden hour ensures we get the dreamy, soft glow that makes your photos truly amazing!
Do you have outfit suggestions?
I want you to wear colors that you truly love! I don’t heavily alter colors in my editing because I believe your photos should reflect the tones you carefully chose for your session. I do tend to gravitate toward natural colors that flow beautifully with the surroundings, and for family sessions, I recommend coordinating tones rather than matching exactly.
Blues are one of my favorite choices for beach sessions, along with sage greens, peach, pink, and various shades of brown or beige. But truly, there are so many beautiful colors to choose from! If you’re unsure, take a look at my Portfolio page for inspiration from past sessions and different location choices.
How long does it take to get our edits back?
Turnaround time depends on how booked I am, but I generally complete a full session within two to three days. I ask for a week to return edited images, though it usually doesn’t take that long. For weddings, I typically finish editing within a week but allow up to two weeks just in case. I’m mindful about scheduling sessions to ensure I have dedicated time for editing—I don’t like falling behind!
Can you tell me a little about your editing process?
Yes! Behind every session that I photograph, there are numerous hours of editing time that goes into each album that I create. I'm hand editing every single photo that gets delivered to you. In many cases, of close up shots, I'm doing skin touches, teeth whitening and adding just a touch of sparkle to your eyes. I get rid of unwanted things in photos, sometimes adding clouds, lights, glitter and confetti.
Editing, for me, is my favorite part of our session and it's where I can add creativity and bring extra magic to your portraits. I've spent thousands of hours learning to edit and most people tell me that they can spot one of my photos without even knowing who originally took the photo!
Where are you located?
I'm located in Wallace, North Carolina. We do travel to different parts of Eastern North Carolina and beyond. If you have any questions about location, send me a message at [email protected]
